Where the Hell is new X-COM game?
The original X-COM (UFO: Defense in the US, UFO: Enemy Unknown in Europe) was great and I loved it. It was one of those game that are hard - or even impossible - to improve. There's a great article at GamersInfo.net summarizing the history of X-COM series and looking to its future. But what future?
CoDo Games founded by the Gollop brothers, authors of the X-COM series, is not very communicative. They silently develop their tiny games like Rebelstar: Tactical Command and Laser Squad Nemesis. Where the Hell is new X-COM game? Wouldn't it be great to have a brand new UFO: Defense with the exactly same game mechanics running on Epic's Unreal Engine 3? Imagine the enviroment from Gears of War, the huge building, dark corners, detailed characters, in addition to the turn-based battle system, base building and intense dogfights all around the globe. Is there anybody willing to do this? But what's more important, are there enough gamers eager to play this? Because only then there's this tiny chance such a game will ever be made.
