E3 is over. So what?

Many sources report cancellation of the world's biggest gaming show. Annual Electronic Entertainment Expo alias E3 in Los Angeles is going to change. According to Next-Gen, Doug Lowenstein, the president of the Entertainment Software Association is going to announce somewhat like a "big shrink". E3 will continue in a much different way. It will be smaller, cheaper and less bombastic.
E3 as we know is at the end. And no one really cares. Because E3 as we knew it was merely a big audiovisual show rather than an event oriented on games. It was good and bad for gaming at the same time. Publisher squandered millions of dollars for media attention which they didn't get. No surprise they don't want to continue. Just wondering it took them so long...
Will the gaming industry without E3 do better? No one knows. But one thing we know. Gaming journalists will do.
